State Liberal's announce commitment to reinstate funding to Advisory Board of Agriculture

The State Liberal's have announced a Marshall Government will reinstate $100,000 funding per year to the Agriculture Bureau of South Australia’s advisory board.

In 2012, the State Labor Government ceased funding to the Advisory Board of Agriculture, the Bureau's governing body, however the Liberal's have committed to supporting the ABA.

Win for small business as Alexandrina Council rethinks A-Frame Policy

In recent months I have been dealing with the Alexandrina Council and disgruntled business owners in the area over the Council's policy relating to moveable signs such as A Frame signs on roads and local government land.

Small businesses across South Australia already face an uphill battle given the current downturn in the local and regional economy. I understand the Council's intention however I believe the policy would have an adverse impact on the trade for a number of businesses in their local government area.

Proposed 'No Wash' zones for the River Murray have been scrapped

Proposed 'No Wash' zones for the stretch of the River Murray in the Hammond Electorate have been 'scrapped' following community feed back.

At a meeting in Murray Bridge, 27 March 2013, in which I was proud to attend and represent the Hammond Electorate saw the River Murray Eco Action Campaign working group agree the 'No Wash' zone proposals had not been well received by the whole of the community and river users and decide to no longer pursue the proposals.
