Adrian Pederick elected as Presiding Member of the Environment, Resources & Development Committee

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, has been elected as the Presiding Member of the Environment, Resources and Development Committee (ERDC) which is a State Parliamentary Standing Committee.

“It is an exciting opportunity to be elected as the Presiding Member of the ERDC and I look forward to working with all committee members to achieve good outcomes,” said Mr Pederick.

“The ERDC is a Standing Committee which comes under the Parliamentary Committees Act 1991 and has many Statutory Responsibilities.

“The functions of the ERDC are to inquire into, consider and report on matters concerned with the environment, any matter concerned with the resources of the State, planning and land use matters or any general development matters of the State.

“The ERDC may also perform other such functions as are imposed on the Committee under the Act or by resolution of both Houses of the State Parliament.

“Including myself, the Committee is made up of six Members which come from both the Legislative Council and House of Assembly.

“The functions of the ERDC are certainly areas which interest me and I am looking forward to contributing to and working with Committee Members and staff as the Presiding Member,” said Mr Pederick.
