Congratulations Premier’s Reading Challenge Awards

Adrian Pederick MP, member for Hammond, was on hand at the Premier’s Reading Challenge award ceremony at the Adelaide Zoo on Friday 21 November.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge continues to be popular with students and their parents, with more students than ever picking up books to get involved.

In our region two schools achieved 100% of their students completing the Challenge in 2014. These were Fraser Park Primary School and the Murray Bridge Regional Disability Unit who were both recognised as a school with outstanding achievement.

“This program is a great way to introduce reading to our children,” said Mr Pederick.

“To develop a love of reading as a youngster is vital to learning and child development. It is the start on the path to life-long learning.

“With the variety of books the students can choose from, it really does engage everyone.

“Fraser Park Primary School and the Murray Bridge Regional Disability Unit should be proud of their success of having all 100% of their students participating in the challenge. It is a real achievement.

“Congratulations to all the schools that participated,” said Mr Pederick.
