Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, was again overwhelmingly pleased with the success of the Murraylands region at the recent SA Training Awards.

“The Murraylands Food Alliance (MFA) Jobs 4 Murraylands program again showed its success at the SA Training Awards, winning the Industry Collaboration Award,” said Mr Pederick.

According to a statewide survey, Hammond landowners and water licence holders being slammed by rising Natural Resources Management (NRM) system fees believe their levies are too high and are not even aware of how they are being spent.

The survey on the Natural Resources Management (NRM) system launched in April this year by Shadow Minister for Environment, David Speirs, also revealed that an overwhelming majority of respondents are dissatisfied with the current NRM system.

State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall’s commitment to provide a $1.2 million funding injection to Life Education will enable its popular and effective healthy lifestyle and drug prevention education programs to be substantially increased in regional South Australia.

Life Education, known for its iconic mascot Healthy Harold the giraffe, has been delivering evidence-based healthy living and anti-substance abuse programs in South Australian schools for thirty years.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick was honoured to be introducing the Work Health & Safety (Notification of Next of Kin) Bill on Thursday 10th August 2017 in memory of livestock transporter, Alan Carter.

“The Bill amends the Work Health and Safety Act 2012, by implementing the duty to notify the next of kin when a prescribed medical incident occurs at a business’ premises,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is working hard to ensure the Coonalpyn Roadhouse has the greatest opportunity to continue operating and servicing the community and surrounding regions well into the future.

“I have been in discussions with Peregrine since 2014 on the issue of keeping Coonalpyn Roadhouse open and they have managed to keep it open 3 years, however, have now decided to cease operating October 31st 2017” said Mr Pederick.

Questions have been raised over the failure to invite South Australian Liberal Party MPs to a joint press conference held by the State Government in response to allegations of water theft from the Murray Darling Basin.

Adrian Pederick MP and the State Liberal Team are committed to ensuring the Murray Darling Basin Plan is delivered in full and on time. Simultaneously, the State Liberal Opposition are in support of calls for a national judicial review into allegations of water theft in the Murray Darling Basin.

“I was extremely disappointed when learning of the alleged water theft from the Murray Darling Basin as this is an important resource utilised by many,” said Mr Pederick.

A decade long $150 million country hospital capital works and maintenance backlog will be addressed under the State Liberals’ Investing in Country Health policy.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick has been advocating for the need to ensure there is adequate investment in health facilities in the Hammond electorate.

With the support and assistance of Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, the River Murray Boating and Recreational Advisory Group (RMBRAG) has been successful in receiving an additional grant of $30,000 from the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure (DPTI).

RMBRAG were first successful in receiving a $20,000 grant in October 2015, which saw the development of their river safety campaign #MurrayRiverLife.
