Murray Darling Basin

Adrian Pederick MP and the State Liberal Team are committed to ensuring the Murray Darling Basin Plan is delivered in full and on time. Simultaneously, the State Liberal Opposition are in support of calls for a national judicial review into allegations of water theft in the Murray Darling Basin.

“I was extremely disappointed when learning of the alleged water theft from the Murray Darling Basin as this is an important resource utilised by many,” said Mr Pederick.

$150 million country health backlog to be addressed

A decade long $150 million country hospital capital works and maintenance backlog will be addressed under the State Liberals’ Investing in Country Health policy.

RMBRAG secures additional funding

With the support and assistance of Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, the River Murray Boating and Recreational Advisory Group (RMBRAG) has been successful in receiving an additional grant of $30,000 from the Department of Planning, Transport & Infrastructure (DPTI).

RMBRAG were first successful in receiving a $20,000 grant in October 2015, which saw the development of their river safety campaign #MurrayRiverLife.

Coroner recommends Leila’s Lifeline

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, is extremely pleased with the recommendation of Deputy State Coroner Anthony Schapel, who supports the establishment of Leila’s Lifeline.

“Miss Leila Baartse-Harkin tragically passed away after several trips to different hospitals failed to identify an internal injury she sustained as a result of a playground accident,” said Mr Pederick.

Milang Medical Clinic

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, met with over 60 concerned residents of Milang and surrounding communities, after being informed of the imminent closure of the Milang Medical Clinic.

“Milang and surrounding regions have had the opportunity to seek medical assistance within their own community for some 80 years, consequently the closure of the Milang Medical Clinic has caused a great amount of concern for the community,” said Mr Pederick.

Investment to improve regional road conditions

The State Liberals have welcomed the reintroduction of the $40 million supplementary local road funding program in the 2017-18 Federal Budget.

The $40 million program was reintroduced this week after extensive lobbying from State and Federal Liberal MPs who opposed the program being cut in the 2014-15 Federal Budget.
