Murray Bridge Racing Club to go ahead

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is pleased to see the Murray Bridge Racing Club development secure $20 million from Federal, State and Industry Funds, which will see the completion of the project.

“The State Liberals have always supported this development and as part of our 2014 election promise, we had committed to a $5 million grant and a $10 million loan, complimented by a $5 million grant from the Federal Government,” said Mr Pederick.

“I have lobbied for over six years for funding for this project and since 2014, I have been advocating for the State Government to provide a form of financial support for the development to allow for its completion.

“It is much appreciated that a $5 million loan has been approved by the State Government.

“It is also great that the Federal Government came on board in 2015 with the announcement of a $5 million grant.

“I also acknowledge the $5 million loan from Thoroughbred Racing SA (TRSA) and the $5 million contribution from Burke Urban.

“This development will include state of the art facilities and will provide hundreds of jobs and be a real boost to the economy for the regional centre of Murray Bridge.

“Along with world-class racing facilities, the development will have the capability of hosting functions and conferences which will seat up to 700 people.

“However, this is not just about racing; it’s also about unlocking the opportunity to thousands of housing blocks.

“The Murray Bridge Racing Club development will not only benefit surrounding regions, it will benefit greater South Australia and interstate and it’s great to have a development of this kind in the Hammond Electorate.

“As the Local Member I have always been a strong supporter for the development and I am very much looking forward to its completion,” said Mr Pederick.
