I welcome the Marshall Liberal Government’s announcement that the student contribution fee for dependents of 457 and 482 visa holders attending government schools in regional areas is being waived.

Skilled migrants with a sub-class 457 and 482 visa were previously required to pay a student contribution fee. This fee was up to $5,300 for primary school students and $6,400 for high school students.

This announcement will support regional businesses to meet the skills shortage and attract the skilled workers they need to grow.

The Marshall Liberal Government is committed to unlocking economic activity in our regions, creating more jobs and strengthening regional communities.
