Wear Orange Wednesday – WOW day

WOW Day is a national day of recognition to say 'thank you' to all SES volunteers across Australia.

The State Emergency Service is a volunteer organisation with more than 1,600 volunteers across 67 units in South Australia.

These volunteers provide response to day-to-day incidents such as vehicle crashes, searches, cliff rescues and crucial storm and flood response.

"WOW day is an opportunity for us to say thank you to all these wonderful volunteers who give up their time to protect our community," Mr Pederick said.

"We thank them for their courage and leadership, and it is so important we take a moment to thank our emergency services volunteers who are there in our time of need."

"This is a wonderful way to celebrate those who always put others before themselves."
