Monarto Safari Park to welcome three mighty elephants

Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick MP is thrilled by the recent news that Monarto Safari Park is set to welcome elephants back to South Australia.

The three elephants are currently living at Auckland and Perth Zoos but a joint venture with Zoos SA could see them find their forever home at Monarto Safari Park.

"South Australia has not had elephants since 1994 so what an amazing opportunity this is to bring such a loved animal back to the state," Mr Pederick said.

"I have been keen to see elephants at Monarto ever since the redevelopment was announced and this incredible milestone will only enhance the Safari Park's reputation as a world-renowned conservation facility."

Bringing the elephants to South Australia is a mammoth effort and will only succeed if Zoos SA can raise just over $2 million.

"I will be donating to this great cause and I urge others to offer their support by making a donation at this link https://elephants.monartosafari.com.au/

"The dedicated teams at Monarto Safari Park and Zoos SA deserve to be commended for their tremendous efforts in making this endeavor a reality and I have no doubt it will be a success," Mr Pederick said.
