I would like to take this opportunity to recognise the valuable contribution of the many unsung heroes who volunteer their time and efforts in the Hammond community, as we celebrate National Volunteer Week.

National Volunteer Week is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and it is important to celebrate the power of volunteering.

Whether it’s delivering meals to the elderly, coaching or cooking a BBQ at a local sporting club, organising a multicultural event for a migrant community or simply helping a neighbour do their shopping or yard work, volunteers make a positive difference to the lives of others every single day.

To all the volunteers out there – thank you. Your work is tremendous and greatly valued!
