Resurfacing works on the Princes Highway begin this week as part of the jointly funded Princes Highway Corridor Program.

Two sections of the highway near Murray Bridge will be resurfaced to improve safety and create a quieter experience for road users.

The $4.3 million project includes a 1.7km section of the outbound lanes from Adelaide Road off-ramp towards Swanport Bridge and a 5km section of the outbound lanes from Old Princes Highway towards Tailem Bend.

Works are scheduled to begin from Tuesday 19th May with works undertaken between 5am and 7pm Monday to Saturday.

Member for Barker said the works were taking place thanks to a $250 million funding partnership with the Federal and State Government on an 80/20 funding split.

“These works are taking place thanks to this significant investment in the Princes Highway Corridor,” said Mr Pasin.

“Better road infrastructure means we can move ourselves and our freight more safely and productively around the nation, which will in turn help us build a stronger and more resilient economy.”

State Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick said “this is yet another example of the Marshall Government investing in regional road infrastructure in this instance partnering with the Federal Government. The efficient movement of freight is vital to regional businesses and these upgrades will ensure improved safety and less wear and tear on heavy vehicles.
