Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (15:03): My question is to the Minister for Innovation and Skills. Can the minister update the house on how increased skills funding is creating jobs in Hammond?

Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (11:10): I certainly rise to support this bill, the Aquaculture (Tourism Development) Amendment Bill 2021. I will go through some of the direct particulars in relation to this legislation, which I believe will be a great boon to South Australian tourism, especially in this COVID time. What we are seeing with restricted and in some places almost nil border access to South Australia, with the excellent COVID management we are running in this state, are these internal tourism drawcards that I do not think we can have enough of.

Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (15:05): My question is for the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development. Can the minister please update the house on how the Marshall Liberal government is delivering the $7.5 million red meat and wool program and how this is creating job opportunities and growing the economy.

Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (15:50): I rise today to speak about an excellent company in my electorate, Big River Pork. This company is an exemplar of process, managing people and managing animal welfare. I have worked alongside them for many years as a major processor in my area.

Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (11:44): I rise to support this Public Works Committee report into the latest redevelopment to Urrbrae Agricultural High School, noting not only the significant investment by the Marshall Liberal government but that I am a former scholar of Urrbrae—

Mr PEDERICK: My question is to the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development. Can the minister please update the house on how an upgrade to a glass processing plant is creating jobs in the Barossa and Adelaide Plains regions?

Can the minister please update the house on how the Marshall Liberal government is working with the commonwealth government to create job opportunities that impact on our community through investment in water infrastructure projects?

Mr PEDERICK (Hammond) (16:55): I rise to speak to the Appropriation Bill in regard to the 2021-22 budget. This is a budget that is focused on creating jobs, providing better services and building what matters. This budget includes a range of measures that support local jobs and longer term economic growth. They include additional funding for the Jobs and Economic Growth Fund, formerly the Economic and Business Growth Fund, bringing the capacity of the fund to $200 million over the next four years, and extending the payroll tax exemption for apprentices and trainees for a further 12 months.
