A Marshall Liberal Government will reinstate $3.5 million annually to the Community Recreation and Sports Facilities program, which is due to be cut by the Weatherill Labor Government in 2015.

Sports clubs, recreation organisations, schools and councils have all condemned the Weatherill Labor Government for slashing $3.5 million per annum in sports funding, and the peak lobby group, Sports SA, has also called on the Government to reverse its cuts.

Severe budget constraints and a closed pool are impacting students at the Coomandook Area School (CAS) and all blame lies with the Weatherill Labor Government, according to Liberal Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick.

Mr Pederick, who first raised this issue in Parliament on 12 November 2013, believes the Weatherill Labor Government is showing serious neglect towards CAS.

Eleven male fruit flies, found at Loxton and Pyap in the Riverland Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone, will now cost the Weatherill Labor Government $4 million to eradicate.

Sporting organisations across the Hammond Electorate have been successful in their application for grant funding as part of Round 36 of the Active Club Program.

Over $33,000 has been allocated to organisations in Hammond which will help sporting clubs to purchase sporting equipment, assist in training and development and club promotion.
