I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hard working Country Fire Service firefighters and volunteers for their efforts over the past week in the Hammond electorate.

Fruit fly outbreak a major concern

News of two fruit fly outbreaks in the Riverland are a concern for local growers and the Weatherill Labor Government must get proactive in eradicating the pest, according to Liberal Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick.

Eleven male fruit flies, found at Loxton and Pyap in the Riverland Fruit Fly Exclusion Zone, will now cost the Weatherill Labor Government $4 million to eradicate.

Hammond sporting clubs receive $33,000 in grants

Sporting organisations across the Hammond Electorate have been successful in their application for grant funding as part of Round 36 of the Active Club Program.

Over $33,000 has been allocated to organisations in Hammond which will help sporting clubs to purchase sporting equipment, assist in training and development and club promotion.
