The State Liberals have introduced legislation to give lasting peace of mind to shack owners across the Hammond electorate.

If passed, the legislation will allow lessees of ‘life-lease’ shack sites to enter into permanent arrangements, fulfilling the State Liberal’s longstanding commitment to allowing South Australian shack owners to enjoy their properties for generations to come.

Adrian Pederick, Member for Hammond last week questioned the Minister for Transport on sections of the Mallee and Dukes Highways, which extend alongside the Tailem Bend Motorsport Park development.

“During the biggest harvest we have had in South Australia, the Department of Transport reconfigured intersections of the Tailem Bend Motorsport Park with the Mallee and Dukes Highways,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick was advocating in Parliament last week regarding the condition of roads within the Langhorne Creek region, due to the severe damage to the roads because of flood events.

“On 02nd of March I asked the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure when the Langhorne Creek region would be receiving the much needed road maintenance to fix flood damage to local roads which occurred over six months ago,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is taking action to assist landowners affected by the November hailstorm.

“I am of the understanding there are recovery assistance grants of up to $10,000 for eligible primary producers in the Riverland who were impacted by the hailstorm which occurred in November,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is concerned about recent event’s that saw Mobilong Prison go into lockdown.

“Mobilong Prison was originally built in 1987 with the capacity of 160. Now in 2017 the number of beds has expanded to over 460,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick and the Marshall Liberal Team are committed to decentralising the public health system and increasing patient care and safety, through their recently announced policy that ‘engages communities and clinicians for better health.’

“Under the Weatherill Labor Government we have seen bureaucracy within the public health system increase substantially, whilst the patients receive lesser quality care and services,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is in full support of the Marshall Liberal Team’s recently announced ‘Globe Link’ policy, which would see a generational upgrade to South Australia’s road and rail network.

“If implemented, Globe Link would provide countless benefits not only to my Electorate of Hammond, but to South Australia and Australia as a whole,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is pleased to see the Murray Bridge Racing Club development secure $20 million from Federal, State and Industry Funds, which will see the completion of the project.

“The State Liberals have always supported this development and as part of our 2014 election promise, we had committed to a $5 million grant and a $10 million loan, complimented by a $5 million grant from the Federal Government,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is committed to ensuring the Murray Darling Basin Plan is delivered in full.

“I am committed to seeing the full 3,200 gigalitres of water returned to the river system,” said Mr Pederick.

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick today brought the Farm Debt Mediation Bill to vote in Parliament and due to the lack of support from the Labor Government, including the Minister Agriculture, the bill was not passed.

“The lack of support from the Weatherill Labor Government and Minister Bignell is disappointing to say the least,” said Mr Pederick.
