Environment and Food Production Area to include Rural City of Murray Bridge & Alexandrina Council

Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick is appalled by the Weatherill Labor Government’s lack of consultation with the Rural City of Murray Bridge (RCMB) and Alexandrina Council in relation to the Environment and Food Production Area (EFPA).

“I was only recently advised that area’s encompassing the RCMB and Alexandrina Council would be included in a newly proposed Environment and Food Production Area,” said Mr Pederick.

Tour to look at export growth potential in Hammond

Federal backing to combat the New Zealand/Long-nosed Fur Seals

Member for Hammond Adrian Pederick has been informed by local Federal colleague, Tony Pasin MP, that the Federal Environment Minister, Greg Hunt MP has indicted that the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act has no jurisdiction over action being taken in regards to a sustainable harvest of the New Zealand/Long-nosed fur seals.

“In the last few years the seals have become a major issue and have been wreaking havoc in the Lakes and Coorong,” said Mr Pederick.

Belvidere’s Soldiers Memorial at risk

Over 70 outraged residents of the Belvidere area attended a community forum Thursday night where Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick listened and acknowledged the significant history the triangle of trees hold.

“Work is to be undertaken at the intersection of Strathalbyn/Milang/Langhorne Creek roads at Belvidere,” said Mr Pederick.

SA’s Time Zone to stay as it is

New Zealand/Long-nosed Fur Seals petition

Liberal Member for Hammond, Adrian Pederick, has today tabled a petition in Parliament with 1,594 signatures calling on the State Government to immediately identify and implement an over-abundant native species management plan and to include a Sustainable Harvest of the New Zealand Fur Seals.

Finn’s Law fight continues

On Wednesday this week a group of Finn’s Law supporters walked from Crafers to Parliament House where Adrian Pederick, Member for Hammond, joined them in a rally.

“The Statutes Amendment (Rights of Foster Parents and Guardians) Bill 2015 is a bill I re-introduced, which seeks to provide foster parents and guardians with more rights in relation to funeral arrangements if a child were to die in the care of a foster parent,” said Mr Pederick.
